Units Accepted On The Site
About The Site The campsite is located in small field on a smallholding, 1.5 miles from the market town of Holsworthy. Holsworthy is farming town with regular weekly auctions and markets. It is very uncommercialised and not 'touristy', but a short drive will bring you to lovely Bude which is 8 miles away. There are many attractions within a short drive. The site is mainly used by Tents, Caravans and Camper Vans are also welcome but our ground can be soft so I am always happy to take short notice bookings if we have a sunny period or for a last minute break. Facilities On Site
The site has basic facilities of a toilet and hot
shower. The site is very basic and aimed at true campers. There is no
electric hook up but the owners are happy to recharge your phone if you
cant live without it. A small charge is made for dogs on this site,
owners need to be responsible as we have rare breed poultry and also
mares and foals so owners are asked to clean up and keep them on a lead
(unless your dog can pick up his own mess and not chase chickens). All the pitches are on grass, we generally take 5 family tents, although if several people wish to have sole use of the field that can be arranged. There is a one bed Static Caravan on this site and that is ideal for family members who want to accompany their family but don't wish to sleep under the stars.
Facilities Nearby And Places Of Interest Situated amidst the rolling green hills of Tarka Country in North Devon is the market town of Holsworthy. There are many natural attractions in the area within a short distance of the site. The Sandy beaches of Bude ans Widemouth Bay and the South West Costal Path are all a short distance away. For thoes interested in fishing or boating there is the Tamar and Roadford Lakes. The site offers a good location as a base to explore the main attractions of Devon and for discovering Dartmoor and Exmoor also for rural walks, cycle paths and bridleways connecting to the famous Tarka Trail. Holsworthy itself has a heated swimming pool, places to eat and drink within its streets of shops cafes and its market square. The Pannier Market is held every Wednesday in the square. The countryside around the market town of Holsworthy provides a rural landscape of small villages and hamlets. Site Fees - 2009

Directions To Site The sat nav will try to take you the scenic route through Okehampton and Hatherleigh. This route is the most direct. From the A30 take the exit (the next junc after Okehampton) to Holsworthy-Bude A3079 continue about 16 miles to T junction, turn left signposted Holsworthy and Bude on A3072, continue for about a mile after the recycling centre. Warning Anvil Holdings is immediately on the left after the sharp bend warning sign, approach the bend very slowly or you will overshoot the drive. I will try to get a sign further down the road but the contractors who do the grass verge mowing tends to 'mow' them, so no promises |
